Akhir September lalu hampir seluruh masyarakat Indonesia-anak kecil sampai orang dewasa- mendiskusikan satu wacana yang homogen, yaitu "Laskar Pelangi."

Laskar pelangi merupakan novel buah karya Andrea Hirata. Novel ini menceritakan perjalanan hidup penulis dengan teman-temannya yang pada waktu itu masih kecil tapi sudah harus melawan derasnya tikaman belati kapitalis yang menancap di dunia pendidikan tanah air. Namun, semangat dan kegigihan untuk menguras lautan ilmu mematahkan belati tersebut.

Rasa penasaran yang memuncak membuat aku yang sudah membaca novelnya ingin menyaksikan kehidupan bocah laskar pelangi dalam betuk audio visual.

Minggu tenang sebelum ujian mid semester merupakan waktu yang tepat untuk memuaskan rasa penasaran itu. Aku bersama empat teman kuliah pergi ke bioskop. Duduk konsentrasi memeloti layar lebar bercahaya itu. Setting latar film yang bersandarkan keindahan alam menghipnotis kami. Terhanyut dalam setiap adegan. Memuncak pada adegan Pesan Tuk Bayan Tula "Mau pintar, Ya belajar. Mau berhasil, Ya usaha" menjadi kamus baru kami. Kami tertawa. Kami terdiam. Dan mata kami berkaca. Hingga layar lebar itu menghitam.

Langit kampus memanas menyambut minggu ujian. Dua minggu pengujian tingkat pemahaman mengenai materi kuliah yang telah dihantarkan. Namun sayang, kesahian hasilnya tidak dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Karena telah bernoda kopekan dan menyontek. Kesetiakawanan dipatri sebagai alat legatimasi kata terakhir.

Sabtu ini jadwal ujian MSDM sebagai penyambut hariku. Aku duduk diantara teman-teman yang tempo hari nonton laskar pelangi bersamaku. Detik terasa begitu cepat setelah kertas dan soal ujian dibagikan. Membaca soal. Berpikir struktural. Menulis jawaban.

"Gin... nomor lima apa??" tanya satu teman yang duduk didepanku sambil sedikit melemparkan lirikan.

"Nih..." senyumku sambil membalikkan soal ujian yang telah kutulis Pesan Tuk Bayan Tula.

Melihat itu, temanku terdiam dan mulai berpikir untuk mengerjakan soal ujian sendiri.

Kuambil penjepit kuku dari atas lemari yang kubeli satu tahun lalu seharga Rp.75.000,-. Lantas, aku menyusuri jalan menuju pintu belakang, tempat yang pas untuk memotong kuku.

Sinar matahari yang melewati celah-celah daun pisang menemaniku disini. Kehangatan sinarnya yang memberikan semacam energi merasuki sekujur tubuhku. Dari satu buku yang sedang kubaca, aku mengetahui bahwa sinar matahari dapat mengurangi depresi. Mulanya aku kurang percaya. Tetapi setelah pagi ini kurasakan sendiri, aku berputar haluan untuk mempercayai tesis penulis buku itu. Ini dapat dijelaskan secara sederhana. Aku merasakan sinar matahari yang menusuk tubuhku mengalir di aliran darah seraya melemaskan otot-otot yang dilaluinya.

Di ruang tamu, Bang Yudhi menonton TV. Dari audionya, aku langsung tahu apa yang ia tonton. Dia sedang menonton sebuah acara infotainment yang memberitakan seorang artis yang lupa daratan, bagai kacang lupa kulitnya. TV itu berujar bahwa artis yang dulunya seorang pengamen jalanan itu, mendadak menjadi seleb setelah menjuarai salah satu ajang kompetisi tarik suara terbesar di negeri ini.

Aku menyelesaikan potongan kuku terakhir di jempol kaki kananku.

Ku telusuri lagi jalan tadi untuk mengembalikan penjepit kuku ke tempat semula. Petuah yang dulu sering ku dengar dari ibu, ayah, uda dan bouku: "letakkan barang yang sudah selesai dipakai ke tempat semula."

TV itu masih ngoceh tentang artis tadi. Sebelum melangkah masuk ke kamar, aku menyempatkan diri melayangkan mata ke TV untuk memuaskan rasa penasaranku tentang berita artis yang lupa daratan itu. Seorang gadis muda, istri artis tsb, yang menggendong bayinya sedang berlinangan air mata menuturkan kisah sedihnya, karena merasa tidak diperdulikan oleh artis tsb. Ia mengatakan bahwa lebih baik suaminya menjadi pengamen seperti dulu daripada menjadi artis yang bergelimangan uang tapi tak perduli lagi kepada istri dan anaknya.

Miris. Uang yang dianggap sebagian orang menjadi tolak ukur segalanya di dunia ini, ternyata tidak berarti apa-apa bila dihadapkan dengan hati.

Uang tidak berarti segalanya. Kalimat ini berotasi di otakku yang sedang membuka memori hidupku dulu yang terpatri oleh pepatah "Hepeng do mangatur nagaraon."

"Cepat itu, Dek! Baris menurut jurusannya!" Ledek Fika.

Pagi ini adalah hari pertama ospek Fakultas Ekonomi 2008. Aku yang sekarang duduk di semester tiga mendapat kesempatan yang sangat berharga menjadi panitia. Fika meledekku karena aku mengenakan baju putih dan celana hitam, seperti peserta bedanya aku mengenakan dasi. Sebenarnya bajuku berwarna merah muda kalau dilihat dari dekat.

Ospek FE memang telah berubah sejak tahun 2006. Sekarang ospek dibuat sedemikian rupa menjadi ajang penampilan bakat (talents scouting), seperti menyanyi, MC, baca puisi, pidato B. Indonesia, speaker, teater, computer skill, humoris dan superstar.

Ospek berlangsung selama empat hari, mulai dari jam tujuh pagi hingga jam setengah enam sore (kecuali hari terakhir sampai jam sepuluh, karena ada durian party). Mahasiswa baru dipecah menjadi 25 bagian, yang disebut korporet. Setiap korporet terdiri dari 40 mahasiswa dari berbagai jurusan, yaitu Akuntansi S1 dan D3, Manajemen, Ekonomi Pembangunan, Keuangan dan Kesekratariatan. Hal ini ditujukan agar adanya interaksi dan komunikasi lintas jurusan.

Setiap korporet ditangani oleh dua Supervisor (Dosen), satu Komisi Disiplin (Mahasiswa), dan lima Mahasiswa Eksekutif. Untuk menjadi komisi disiplin atau mahasiswa eksekutif, kita harus mengantongi sertifikat kelulusan Latihan Kepemimpinan Mahasiswa (LKM).

Kita tidak dapat menolak pertemuan yang telah digariskan oleh Sang Khalik. Aku ditempatkan di korporat dua, bersama Bang Sony (Aksi '05), Bang Anka (Mnj '05), Bang Wiman (EP '06), Kak Nabila (Detak '06). Dan Komisi Disiplin yang membawahi kami adalah Bang Dedy (Mnj '05). Cukup akrab dan menyenangkan, karena kami satu perjuangan di korporat Saham pada LKM 2008.
